What is At-Home Hormone Testing?
During your Q&A, Roca RX will determine which test best fits your needs and a test kit will be sent to you. This set will collect a sample of either your, saliva, blood or urine to help determine your need for hormone therapy. Our high quality tests are ordered through ZRT Labs.
How do I get the results of my test?
The results will be fully explained to you by Roca Rx during your Virtual Hormone Consult. Roca Rx will also send you and your primary care provider a report summarizing your appointment.
Why should I get an At-Home Test?
At-home hormone testing by Roca Rx is much more private and can be more convenient than lab testing. Factors like insurance, scheduling, availability of a provider, and clinic location can influence the convenience of lab testing, and at-home tests can be much faster and less expensive. Choosing Roca Rx for your testing needs also includes the personalized service of a Doctor of Pharmacy so you can be assured that you are taking the most optimal test and getting the best results for your unique needs.
What hormones do you test?
Roca Rx has partnered with ZRT Labs for a variety of tests that can be done at home. Panels include thyroid, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, cortisol, insulin, LH and FSH, and more depending on your unique needs. As part of your Q&A, Roca Rx will determine what the best possible test is for you, then review the results and help you decide what treatment options might be available to you. Results will be submitted to your provider if appropriate.
How much is the test?
As part of your Virtual Hormone Consult, Roca Rx will determine which test will best meet your needs. There is a wide range of tests used to measure different hormones, and the sample collection will also vary. Therefore the cost of each test is different. Testing can start as low as $69 and can be as high as $400. Roca RX has made every effort to partner with the highest quality labs that offer you the most reliable and accurate results. That means the tests we use are not the cheapest tests on the market. Ease of use and reliability are important factors Roca Rx uses to determine our partner companies. We understand cost is a factor and we will try our best to meet the needs of every patient.
Does my insurance cover this test?
Roca Rx does not bill insurance for any service at this time. It is possible that there maybe insurance coverage. Roca Rx suggests that if you have any questions about your insurance coverage to contact member services of your insurance provider. We will gladly provide you with any receipt for payment or documentation you need to process a claim with your insurance provider.
My doctor (primary care provider) ordered a lab test, can I do an at-home test instead?
As part of your Q&A, Roca Rx will determine if a hormone test is appropriate, but it is a good idea to follow the instructions given by your primary healthcare provider. Depending on your individual needs and life style, one test maybe more appropriate than another. During your Q&A, Roca Rx will help you make that decision.
Will this test give me a diagnosis?
Roca Rx does not form a diagnosis. Your primary care provider can use the information provided by Roca Rx to make a diagnosis. All results and recommendations will be given to you and your provider. Further tests or consultations may be required to determine a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate therapy.
What are the limitations of At-Home Testing?
By ordering your hormone test with Roca Rx you have already overcome some of the limitations general lab testing. One limitation of At-Home tests is that there is a variety of panels to choose from, however the tests are targeted toward your individual needs. Roca Rx will ensure you are using the correct lab test during the Q&A. Another limitation of At-Home tests is that the results can be very difficult to understand and apply to your situation. Roca Rx will fully explain the results and make sure you understand them. We develop a care plan, make recommendations, and help you apply this knowledge.
